Everything I wanted, at a great price!

After riding a typical e-bike I did a lot of research and concluded I really needed one with a torque sensor. This sensor type is reserved for high end bikes and very few. Peddling this ReAspire Hurricane electric bike feels like you’re bionic and you don’t have to use a throttle to get going (it just goes on its own the instant you start peddling). Also you don’t need to continuously fiddle with pas level like regular e-bikes.

The other great thing about this bike is the mid motor placement, we need this in our area to get up the hills and it works great. I’m well north of 200lbs and in low gear the motor easily powers me straight up some ridiculously steep trails without stalling like a hub motor. This bike will take me up slopes steeper than I dare go.

Finally, I really wanted regular size tires. To me, fat tires steer weird and are loud at higher speed. The tires on this bike are just right, they’re wide enough for trails, but still roll easily on the road which is important if you intend to ever peddle on your own power, which I try to do as much as I can. Oh, and I like that this looks like a bike and not a motorcycle.

All the other components on this bike are very nice, the hydraulic brakes are smooth, the color display looks great and waterproof.

I modified mine with a $20 stem extension because I like to sit upright, cruiser bike style. I’m 6’4” and it’s very comfortable now. The other thing I’ll add at some point is a headlight which I plan to plug into the USB port.

The whole family enjoys riding this bike, in fact we liked it so much I just bought another one for my wife.
